Basketball Gym/Racquetball (Squash) Court Policies

To ensure a safe facility with safe programs for our members, the Pikes Peak Region YMCA has created and will uphold the following guidelines for YMCA basketball gyms.

  • Everyone must display good sportsmanship. Individuals conducting themselves in anti-social manners will be asked to leave the gym. This includes, but is not limited to, unsportsmanlike conduct, profanity, “trash-talking”, equipment misuse or the destruction of equipment (restitution will be required). Failure to abide by these rules could result in suspension or termination of membership. Any violation of the rules or directives by YMCA staff may result in suspension of gym privileges.
  • Scheduled activities have priority. Please check the daily schedule for gym availability.
  • Any physical or verbal abuse to any staff member or participant may result in suspension of YMCA and/or gyms privileges.
  • Non-marking, closed-toe athletic shoes are required at all times. No boots or sandals are allowed.
  • Do not lean, pull, or sit on the divider curtain.
  • Please do not bounce balls in the facility halls or lobby.
  • All materials must be returned to their original storage at the end of use. Only YMCA staff may retrieve equipment from the gym closets.
  • Full or cross-court games are not permitted during open gym time while other participants are waiting to play. See schedule for pick-up times.
  • Hanging or dunking on the basketball rims in not allowed.
  • No food or drinks (except water) are permitted in the gyms.
